Sheltered
Workshop
The Sheltered Workshop is an in-house, supervised training site
designed to teach individuals with developmental disabilities vocational
skills such as packaging, shrink-wrapping, assembling, labeling, bagging,
tagging an bulk mailing. Work is a major part of the curriculum,
training, daily living and survival skills are also emphasized.
Contract work provides job training and employment. A work adjustment curriculum is designed to meet specific vocational needs with the goal to increase productivity and accuracy while earning a paycheck. The Sheltered Workshop follows guidelines established by the Department of Labor.
Through training, our goal is to graduate our sheltered employees to Supported Employment, which is a more competitive and independent employment experience.
